How it works in 3 steps
Immediate use
The electricity generated by your solar panels is used directly according to demand.
Daily storage: the electrochemical battery
Surpluses are first stored in an electrochemical battery. Once this primary battery is full, daily autonomy is ensured.
Seasonal storage: the hydrogen battery
In winter, surpluses are almost nonexistent; in summer, solar production far exceeds demand. Seasonal storage is therefore necessary: hydrogen, which can be stored long-term without loss, ensures this autonomy.
Hydrogen Battery
It consists of 3 main stages:
- Producing hydrogen: water is converted into hydrogen through electrolysis. An electrochemical compressor then compresses it to reduce its volume and facilitate storage.
- Storing energy: hydrogen is kept in steel cylinders at 300 bar.
- Releasing electricity: when energy is needed, a fuel cell converts the hydrogen back into electricity
